They refer matters to us when they have a conflict,” Holdredge says, adding that what makes the Sonoma County legal community special is its high degree of professionalism. “We realize the lawyer we’re dealing with today, we’ll probably have to deal with again and so people tend to be more respectful.”
Being a small firm, there’s a sense of unity at Geary, Shea, O’Donnell, Grattan & Mitchell. Holdredge says he and his colleagues have lunch together regularly, discussing everything from current cases they’re handling to learning different things about each other.
In 2013, the firm won Best Law Firm in NorthBay biz magazine’s annual Best of the North Bay readers’ poll and now in 2024 the firm has won again for the same honor. Holdredge says the honor motivates the firm’s employees to work harder.
Holdredge describes his team as “honored and flattered” to have won for a second time. “It comes as a surprise to us because we’re not out there ‘banging the drum’ for ourselves,” Holdredge says. “We’re grateful for the recognition and it’s simply more motivation to work harder and to become better lawyers and better people. Winning this award means a lot to us because it says our belief is about taking care of your clients.”
