Founded 53 years ago by longtime Sonoma resident Gary D. Nelson, Nelson Connects has grown to serve not only the North Bay—with offices in Napa, Petaluma, Santa Rosa and San Rafael—but also the East Bay and Central Valley. The Nelson team casts a wide net with virtual and national services for clients and companies outside of California.
“We are beyond excited to be named to the Best of the North Bay Hall of Fame,” says Chief Executive Officer Jeff Phelps. “We are very proud of our staff and proud of the relationships that we have built in the community and with employers. You really get back what you put in,” says Phelps, who emphasizes that Nelson Connects has worked hard to develop good relationships and partnerships with job seekers as well as the businesses that employ Nelson Connects clients.
Phelps says employment is still going through a post-COVID recovery period and that employers and employees are trying to figure out which workplace model is best. This can look like returning to the office full-time, working from home or adopting a virtual/in-person hybrid schedule.
With more people than ever before working from home—whether that be on a hybrid schedule or full time—Phelps says Nelson Connects is offering flexibility to its staffing clients’ needs while fulfilling the demands of employers. As for innovations in job-placement staffing, Nelson Connects remains competitive by incorporating new practices such as recruiting more clients online.
