The longtime family-owned pizza brand Mary’s Pizza Shack announced Sept. 10 its corporation has filed for bankruptcy. According to an announcement from “Mary’s family” posted on maryspizzashack.com, the company intends to keep all current locations open.

The announcement explains that “this is a final step of a larger process that was initiated a couple of years ago to preserve the Mary’s Pizza Shack brand,” referring to a restructuring in 2023 which divided franchises into separate family-owned units as opposed to a single corporation. This latest move will now result in Mary’s granddaughters acquiring the brand.

In the announcement, the Mary’s Family reassured its loyal customer base, emphasizing that “the legendary recipes you grew up on are staying the same.”

Mary’s Pizza Shack was founded by Sonoma Valley resident Mary Fazio 65 years ago in Boyes Hot Springs.
