Pack a picnic lunch, park your car under the shade of an oak tree at Juilliard Park, and peruse 27 artist studios within the one-block SOFA neighborhood of downtown Santa Rosa. Featured will be fine art and crafts for sale in a variety of styles and media from painting to photography and everything in between. The SOFA artists will be on hand to discuss their work and answer your questions. Neighborhood galleries featuring special exhibits will be open as well and include Gallery 300, The Gallery of Sea and Heaven, Studio ISM and Uribe Studios Backstreet Gallery. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy and support this energetic art community in downtown Santa Rosa. Admission is free. SOFA (South A St. Arts District), located just behind Julliard Park at the intersection of South A St. and Sebastopol Ave. in Santa Rosa, is pedestrian-friendly and is home to a number of working artists, photographers, galleries, charming storefronts, cafes and an award winning theater company.
Adding to the excitement surrounding the changing face of downtown Santa Rosa, the SOFA Arts District provides a unique opportunity in Sonoma County for the public to interact with the largest number of local artists in one convenient location.
SOFA is a community of artists, businesses and residents working together to increase the visibility, appreciation and practice of contemporary visual and performing arts in the South A Street vicinity of Santa Rosa. SOFA hosts numerous events throughout the year including the SOFA Art Walk, Small Works, Matsuri (Japanese Arts Festival), Vine Art, ARTrails (largest concentration of ARTrails artists in Sonoma County) and Winterblast. SOFA galleries include: The Gallery of Sea & Heaven, Gallery 300, Studio ISM, Tibidabo Photography, Hoffman & Perez Studio, Uribe Studios Backstreet Gallery and The Imaginists Theatre Collective.
