Event Description

Don't miss this incredible FREE summit on how to stimulate economic growth through collaboration and shared resources. It will showcase out-of-the-box initiatives and ideas already proven to be successful in economic recovery efforts throughout the nation.

Keynote speaker Nancy Lublin, founder of Dress for Success and CEO of DoSomething.org will speak on how economic development professionals can leverage existing creativity and pool resources by taking lessons from each other.

Additionally, representatives from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Central Valley Business Incubator and CSU Fresno will hold a panel discussion on regionalized best practices to generate economic growth using minimal available resources.

The summit will also be streamed live via broadband to additional “mini summits” throughout California as part of a goal to reach 1,000 economic developers across the state over summer 2011. For those outside of the Fresno area, mini summits streaming the Fresno program will be hosted in Monterey, Rohnert Park and El Centro.

The Fresno event will be held Aug. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the UC Center in Fresno, located at 550 East Shaw Ave. Sign in begins at 8:15 a.m. The event is FREE but space is limited and pre-registration is required at  http://californiasbdc.org/collaborative
