Event Description

United Way Children's Book Drive (Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties)
June 7 - June 21

www.unitedwaywinecountry.org/bookdrive2012

When a young person reads only five books over the summer, it helps prevent the decline in reading skills between the summer months and the start of the new school year.

Donate your new or slightly used children and young adult books in English or Spanish.

Last year in Sonoma County, the United Way Children's Book Drive was a huge success with more than 5,000 books collected at Exchange Bank branches and at JDSU. More than 1,000 children received at least three books from the Free Bookmobile of Sonoma County from the drive.

Our goal this year is to collect 8,000 books from June 7-June 21. All books collected in Sonoma County will once again benefit the Free Bookmobile of Sonoma County.

For the first time, the book drive is also being held in Mendocino and Lake Counties to benefit local children.

Give the gift of reading and make a difference in a child's life!

Even if you don't have a children's book to donate from home, pick one up the next time you're in a book store.

Drop off locations are open from 9am-4:30pm.
