Event Description

The Santa Rosa community will come together to celebrate the life of César Chávez at the 13th Annual César Chávez Health Fair.  The Fair will be held at Cook Middle School, 2480 Sebastopol Rd, Santa Rosa on April 6th 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free to the public.  The Cesar Chavez Health Fair embodies the ideals of Cesar Chavez and addresses disparities in access to health care among Latino children and their families.  Over 20 health care providers will offer free screenings and vital health information for the community, focusing on promoting Dental Health and Nutrition.  The Fair is a fun event for families that also includes dancing, music, healthy food tastings, physical activity events and games for the family.

The Cesar Chavez Health Fair will offer:

  • Free dental services and examinations for children ages 0-18
  • Bilingual information on dental health and wellness
  • Free dental care supplies and preventative strategies for families

The participating health organizations have banded together to ensure the families who come to the Fair get the essential follow up exams necessary in maintaining their dental health.

The CalSERVES AmeriCorps program leads a broad community coalition including the First 5 Sonoma County, St. Joseph’s Health System, Kaiser, Community Action Partnership, Network for a Healthy California, and La Fondita Mexican Restaurants to produce an event that is expected to draw over 500 children and families.
