Event Description

May 4 & 5

May 11 & 12

Member Preview: May 3,    3 – 6 pm

The Occidental Arts and Ecology Center will hold its annual Summer Plant Sales, for the first time, for two entire weekends on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 and again on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12. Plant Sale hours are 9am – 5pm. Admission is free.

This year, also for the first time, there will be a special Member Preview on Friday, May 3 from 3 to 6 pm. Those who are Plum members ($50 or above), or those who wish to become members, will have an opportunity to be the first to view and select their plants and will also receive a 10% discount.

We'll be selling hundreds of open-pollinated, heirloom, and rare varieties – an even more spectacular selection than ever before! All are California Certified Organic – many started from our own seed collection – and have been trialed, tasted, and savored for years in our demonstration gardens and kitchen.

This plant sale focuses on the warm season summer crops such as tomatoes, basil, summer and winter squash, pumpkins, hot and sweet peppers, eggplants, beans, melons, cucumbers and gourds. We will also feature a wide array of perennial food crops and permaculture plants, culinary and medicinal herbs as well as traditional food crops of the Andes, such as yacon, kiwicha, quinoa, mashua, oca, pepino, and Cape gooseberry. See for a detailed list.

The OAEC garden staff will be on hand to tell you about our diverse selections.
One-hour tours will be offered at 1 pm on May 11 & 12.
In addition, fabulous food trucks will be on-site for light meals, snacks and refreshments.

Plant sale will be held RAIN OR SHINE!
