His patina technique has become his signature finish on his wall sculptures and turned vessels. He has been teaching, turning and creating original pieces in his Santa Rosa shop/studio since 1981.

Tom Ribbecke has been playing and carrying on with guitars most of his life.   Always a musician as well as a maker, he has built a reputation as one of the world's foremost luthiers and makers of archtop and Halfling TM guitars.  In 2004, Tom founded the Ribbecke Guitar Company, and maintains his private practice in Healdsburg CA.

His inlay work can be seen in the CF Martin, Fender and Gibson museums as well as on many individual luthiers' instruments.  The Martin Guitar Company commissioned his inlays for their 1,000,000th guitar.

Chet Connick (musician and maker in the band Bench Doggs) helped make history at Alembic Guitars, where he helped build guitars and basses for the likes of Santana, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby Stills and Nash, Stanley Clarke.
