Event Description

 Presented in 3D, this sumptuous production was filmed at the historic Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia, where the original Nutcracker was first performed over 120 years ago. Under the leadership of Artistic Director and renowned conductor Valery Gergiev, The Nutcracker tells the story of Clara, a young girl who is given a nutcracker doll for Christmas. When her brother breaks the nutcracker, Clara cares for the wounded doll, which later saves her from the evil Mouse King and is then transformed into a heroic prince. This production showcases the virtuosity of two of the company’s rising stars: Alina Somova as Clara and Vladimir Shklyarov as the Nutcracker. Get ready for 3D visions of sugar plums! 105 min.
