Instead of picking up litter or manning a paintbrush for Earth Day, plant a forest. San Rafael based non-profit orginzation Marin ReLeaf is organizing a weekend for 30 volunteers to go to the Natrional Forest Service's nursery in Placerville and help germinate seeds to be planted in sites that were burned in the wildfires of the last two years. This is a unique opportunity for people to revegetate our national forests and offset their carbon footprint. Leave Friday, stay in local motel or campground, meet rangers Saturday, work for 6 hours, gather for no-host dinner at local restaurant. Orientation Wednesday, April 15, in San Rafael. Photo identification required. $20 per student with proof of school status, $35 adults. Register and pay on line,
