NEWTOWN, CT/Jan. 29, 2009 — With green energy at the top of the national agenda, manufacturers and power suppliers alike are looking for ways to plug natural energy into the national power grid. TÜVRheinland®, the premier supplier of global testing, assessment and certification services, has partnered with electrical and electronics manufacturers Hubbell, Inc. to hold a “Green Power and the Modern Grid” seminar in Pleasanton, Calif. on March 4.
The seminar will cover the equipment capabilities and international standards required to ensure modern grid equipment are validated, reliable and efficient. Attendees will include manufacturers from a variety of power industry sectors, including power equipment and utilities, metering and load control, distributed generation, solar and wind generators, controls and inverters, sensors and communications, energy storage and home area networks.
The program will shed light on:
o        Which standards apply to this growing industry
o        The “phenomena” behind international energy standards
o        Product compliance
o        Pre-qualification and lab testing
o        Automatic meter infrastructure
o        Appropriate media choices
o        Communications protocols
o        Interoperability tests
 
Speakers will include electrical, electronic and EMC test experts: Ryan Bares of Hubbell High Voltage Test Business; Jerry Ramie of ARC Technical Resources; Dr. John Lin of Wireless Glue Networks; and Matthias Heinze, Dr. Farouk Zanaty, and Kent Chesley of TÜVRheinland.
“Green Power and the Modern Grid” will take place   on March 4 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at TÜVRheinland, 1268 Quarry Lane, Suite A, Pleasanton, Calif. Cost for the program is $195 including lunch and snacks.
