Fine Artist René Romero Schuler "Cameo" Exhibition
Fine Artist René Romero Schuler Debuts "Cameo" Exhibition at Chimney Rock Winery
Chimney Rock Winery, 5350 Silverado Trail, Napa, C
Event Description

Fine Artist René Romero Schuler will make her Napa Valley debut with the opening of her solo exhibition at Chimney Rock Winery, a Terlato Family Property in world-renowned Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. The exhibit is entitled “Cameo,” which is in reference to the abstract figures showcased in Romero Schuler’s oil paintings. Through rich layers, the expressionistic figures present themselves and expose the struggle and triumph of the human condition. Romero Schuler’s self-taught technique involves harnessing textural strata of paint, palette scratches and vibrant, jewel-like colors to stress the inherent tension between surface and depth while eliciting an emotional experience in the viewer.

The exhibit comes to Napa through A Partnership Between Artist and Artisan; a collaboration between Romero Schuler and Terlato Family Vineyards that includes limited hand-painted wine bottles.

About René Romero Schuler
René Romero Schuler is an American painter and is one of the most important and well-collected contemporary artists to emerge out of the Midwest in the last decade. Whether on canvas, paper or three-dimensional sculpture, Romero Schuler studies the relationship between what is immediately apparent at the surface and what exists beneath. Romero Schuler is a self-taught artist who has taught painting at the Illinois Institute of Art and Chicago City Colleges and has lectured at Northwestern University. Her art is on display in public collections in Chicago, including inside the Prudential Building, the Chanel boutique at Neiman Marcus, Hyatt Hotels and in the permanent archives at the Art Institute of Chicago. Romero Schuler’s work has exhibited internationally and continues to be permanently represented in the United States and in Paris.

About Chimney Rock Winery
A Terlato Family Property on the fabled Silverado Trail in the world-renowned Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, Chimney Rock Winery introduced its premiere vintage in 1989. In the time since, the beautiful Cape Dutch-inspired estate winery (known for its distinctive gables and bright white stucco exteriors) is regularly recognized as one of the world’s premier fine wine producers. Since the Terlato family assumed sole ownership of Chimney Rock in 2004, they have had a clear vision of the potential of this great estate. They have steadfastly supported and shepherded only the highest standards in viticulture and winemaking. The Chimney Rock estate now comprises 119 acres of vineyards divided into 28 distinct blocks, allowing for highly specialized viticulture suited to each specific site.
