Barbara Dane in conversation with Professor Emeritus David Walls about the role of music in social causes, followed by a performance.

Barbara Dane, the jazz singer who performed with Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters, and Memphis Slim, among others, will recount her role in the Battle of Bodega Head in conversation with David Walls, retired professor of sociology at Sonoma State University. Dr. Walls will talk about the tradition of social protest music and discuss that tradition with Barbara Dane, who will perform Blues Over Bodega and other songs.
