Event Description

 Join us for a very special opening of Alison Saar's exhibit. Los Angeles native Alison Saar is an internationally acclaimed sculptor whose often life-sized works are narratives of her personal and cultural identity. Collecting from a wide variety of sources—African and Haitian folklore, contemporary African-American culture, Catholicism, mythology, voodoo, and the practices of “outsider” artists, Saar constructs a visual language that is simultaneously historical and philosophical, accessible and explorative. 


·         5:00 to 6:00pm, Members Only - Special reception with discussion by Alison Saar 

·         Beginning at 6:00, the general public are invited

Special Event Sponsors receive two tickets and recognition in Museum's marketing materials.

Tickets will also be sold at the door.
