Writing Style

Teri McClanahan is currently a Consultant and sole proprietor of McClanahan Consulting. Before starting her own business, she held the position of Director of Finance and Administration for the Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County from February 2014 through February 2015. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Planning and Resource Development (PRD) from July 2010 –February 2014. She brings over 15 years of experience in non profit administration and community development. As Director of Finance and Administration she was responsible for the Fiscal operations and Information Technology and Facilities for the agency. As the Director of PRD, she was responsible for two strategic areas: Planning and Resource Development, and the Center for Economic Success. Duties included management and direction of the following: Grants Development Management, and research and design of emerging practices and programs. Responsibilities included insuring the completion of all re-applications to maintain base of $9 million in operating funds; research, develop, and secure new funding opportunities; new program development; program evaluation and compliance; Manage and supervise Center for Economic Success: Bundled services include: VIA/EITC, Financial Fitness/IDA Program, Microenterprise Business Development, Rent-Up, Rental Assistance. She participated in Agency strategic planning and implementation of the strategic plan through fund development and program implementation. Capitalizing upon skills and knowledge gleaned from 8 years in Corporate America prior to venturing into the non-profit arena, she is able to wed her experiences to bring a view and understanding of the needs of both to forge alliances to create collective impact around issues of workforce development and self-employment.
