The Body Sacred, Buxtehude & Bach
Baroque choral music with period instrument orchestra
San Anselmo
Event Description

MARIN BAROQUE directed by Daniel Canosa presents The Body Sacred, Buxtehude & Bach at 8 PM on Saturday, March 12th, at First Presbyterian Church San Anselmo. We will present cantatas from the mystical Membra Jesu Nostri by Dieterich Buxtehude, J. S. Bach’s teacher, and the well-known and beloved work by J. S. Bach, Cantata Nr. 4, Christ Lag in Todesbanden, composed when he was just 22 years old. The meditative and devotional nature of these works speak to the spiritual in all of us. Come and experience this emotional and exquisite music presented in the most authentic way, by a chamber choir and period instrument orchestra.

Pre-concert talk by cellist Farley Pearce.
