Event Description

Join us for a special evening at the Union Hotel in Occidental to watch a film screening of Wolfram Hissen's documentary,The Running Fence Revisited. This film was produced in 2010 and was sponsored by the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. It contains interviews of locals who had participated in the Running Fence's creation and of Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Erin van Rheenen, who between takes, interviewed Christo and Jeanne-Claude, may have been the last person to interview Jeanne-Claude before her sudden death in 2009.

The first film screening took place at the Union Hotel in Occidental in 2010. For our event, Barbara Gonella has graciously donated her restaurant for a revival of the first film screening in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Running Fence and the current exhibition, Running Fence: 40 years Post.

Appetizers and wine included.

Event sponsor receives two tickets and credit in the Museum's marketing materials. Lecture sponsorships are tax-deductible.
