Recognizing 38 years of Operation: The National Women\\\'s History Project
In honor of Women\\\'s History Month, Molly Murphy MacGregor will give a talk about the history of the National Women\\\'s History project, its impact on women, and its future.

Event Description

 2018 is the 40th anniversary of Women’s History Week (the week of March 8, 1978), which led to the celebration of National Women’s History Month in March, but few people know that it started here in Santa Rosa. Since its inception in 1980, the National Women’s History Project has been headquartered here in Santa Rosa and has been “writing women back into history.”
 
In honor of Women’s History Month, Molly Murphy MacGregor will give a talk about the history of the National Women’s History project, its impact on women, and its future. She currently holds the office of Executive Director and Co-Founder, Chair of the National Women’s History Project Board of Directors. Ms. MacGregor is a former high school social studies teacher who has worked for over 40 years in the field of gender equity and women’s history. Her work in the field of multicultural women’s history has been widely recognized including awards from the National Education Association, the US Department of Education, the National Association for Multicultural Education, and the Association for Gender Equity Leadership in Education Leadership.

Lecture Sponsor receives 2 tickets and recognition in the Museum\\\'s marketing materials. Lecture sponsorships are fully tax-deductible. 

Doors open at 6:30pm, the TALK begins at 7:00pm.


Members are free. Students are $5. Non-Member tickets are $10 prepaid or $15 at the door.
