Desire Trails
Embark a journey into the terrain of the Marin Headlands. Artists & scientists interpret the land, shifting your perception of this complex locale.
Headlands Center for the Arts, 944 Fort Barry, Sau
Event Description

Desire paths are well-trodden trails created by foot traffic, where the ground becomes imprinted evidence of a place that wants to be discovered and the people who seek it out. Grab your walking stick for this geological edition Desire Trails and embark a journey into the folded and faulted terrain of the Marin Headlands. Artists and local scientists will interpret the rocks and land, shifting your perception of this complex locale. Hunt for human-made rocks, area-specific Franciscan radiolarian chert, pillow basalt, and extinct ocean vents.

We begin in the Mess Hall, where amblers can gear up with full bellies before the hike with an optional pre-trek meal. We know you\\\'ll be hungry, so we\\\'re preparing a hearty, healthy, all-diet-friendly meal that will be ready to eat as soon as you arrive.

Mess Hall opens for meals at 12PM
Walks leave from Main Building 944 at 1PM

Fee: $0.00
