Left Bank Brasserie Hosts a Book Passage/Cooks with Books Event with Elizabeth Minchilli

Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur, in association with Book Passage bookstore’s Cooks with Books program, will host a dinner on Sunday, May 5, 2019, with Elizabeth Minchilli, author of the newly released The Italian Table. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be priced at $115 per person/$175 per couple which includes the meal, wine, tax, gratuity and a signed copy of the new book. The dinner’s menu will be based on recipes from The Italian Table. Advance reservations are required and can be made via https://www.bookpassage.com/event/cooks-books-elizabeth-minchilli-italian-table-left-bank-brasserie.

The evening kicks off with a book signing, followed by a sit-down meal inspired by the author\\\'s recipes and overseen by the restaurant\\\'s Chief Culinary Officer, Roland Passot. Guests will also have the chance to talk with Minchilli who has written about food, style and architecture from her home in Italy for the past 25 years. Her website won a Saveur Blog Award for Best Culinary Coverage, an Italy Magazine Best Food Blog Award and she was named The Culture Trip Local Favorite. The author of eight books, including Eating My Way Through Italy, she is also the founder of the Eat Italy app. Her books, blogs, apps and food tours have been praised by the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Travel & Leisure, NPR, The Huffington Post, Condé Nast Traveler and more.

Her latest book, a 240-page hardcover publication, delivers both parts of the fantasy and the reality of Italian meals as they would be eaten on location. Combining menus and recipes, as well as insight into the traditions of the food, it serves as a practical resource that gives home cooks step-by-step guidance and has a resources section for ingredients; history headnotes, recipe shortcuts, serving suggestions and information on what to drink, how to set the table and how to time the preparation and the party itself.

Left Bank Brasserie in Larkspur is located at 507 Magnolia Avenue at Ward Street. Free parking is readily available on the street and in a municipal lot across from the restaurant. Visit Left Bank on the web at www.leftbank.com.
