Eresa Puch Named Controller at Napa Valley College
Eresa Puch has been named Controller at Napa Valley College, announced Robert Parker, Assistant Superintendent/Vice President, Administrative Services.
Puch has more than 20 years of professional practice in finance and operations roles, with a range of work experience that includes serving as the senior accounting manager for the Buck Institute for Education, district accountant at Petaluma City Schools, internal auditor at Kaiser Permanente, and customer service director with United Airlines.
“I am very pleased Eresa has joined the Napa Valley College community,” Parker said. “Her vast experience in finance and account management combined with her understanding of the inner-workings of a public, educational institution will be a tremendous asset to the Napa Valley Community College District.”
In the new position, Puch directs day-to-day accounting operations for the district, including development and implementation of internal accounting procedures and preparation of budget projections. She also directs and supervises the preparation, maintenance, and distribution of all financial reports and records, as required by college policy and state, federal, and local regulatory agencies.
Puch describes herself as a helper who loves to streamline processes. “Finance communicates the story of how we create and use money and resources. It guides decision-makers in utilizing the assets to effectually support our mission and strategic goals,” she says. “The office of business and finance serves as an essential support for the college because each and every one of us has a footprint on the organization’s financial data.”
Puch earned the Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Sonoma State University’s Graduate School of Business and Economics. She is a certified member of both The Institute of Internal Auditors and Health Care Compliance Association, and serves as the governing board president for her children’s school in Petaluma, where she resides with her husband and two sons.
